Treatment preference? Modality?
Yes. I take the following insurance: Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts, Carelon Behavioral Health, Cigna, Premera Blue Cross Washington, Regence BlueShield of Washington, Quest Behavioral Health At this time I am not able to bill other insurance’s. I do not currently accept Medicaid or Medicare. I am able to accept private pay, however. My private pay rates are: $210/ hour This is the same rate for in person or for telehealth visits.
I offer specialized treatment for some specific issues including Obsession Compulsive Disorder and Hoarding Disorder. The evidence-based treatments that I use for these disorders include Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP).
I will usually want to hear how things have been going since you and I sat down last. If you had any homework assignments I will want to hear how those went – or did’nt go! We may do some breathing and grounding exercises to remind our minds and our bodies that this space and time are important and need our attention. Then I usually like to set a goal and agenda for the session. Often this includes exploring and practicing a technique to examine a thought or action. We will do it together in session; then clients take the technique home and practice there during the week. A good example might be using the S.T.O.P. technique to avoid becoming flooded with emotions. We practice Stopping, Taking a step back, Observing what is going on with ourselves and others, and Proceeding mindfully.
Good question! Think about what you hope to get out of therapy. Put another way, what do you want to change about how things are going now? You can also think about what worked well when you worked with previous therapists or counselors, and what was not so hot. There will likely be some forms to be filled out, so be prepared for paperwork and for questions about your over all health and well being.
